Trusts, Tax & Succession

Every day we change the lives of our Trust, Tax & Succession clients by helping them to set up and administer trusts and create tax efficient plans for their estate, family and businesses.

How we can help

Trusts

Trust law is seen as a complex area even among lawyers. Our team includes experienced specialists who can advise on the creation, reorganisation and winding up of trusts. We also deal with all aspects of trust administration including advising trustees, the preparation of trust accounts and tax returns, distributions from trusts and the drafting of documents required on the appointment or retirement of trustees.

Succession Planning

We are committed to giving tailored advice based on an in-depth understanding of your specific needs and long-term goals. Our Solicitors can advise on the mitigation of capital gains tax and inheritance tax during your lifetime through estate planning.

Personal Injury Trusts

A Personal Injury Trust can help to prevent compensation for personal injury being considered when working out whether a person is entitled to means-tested benefits, either now or in the future.

The Government recognises it is unfair for someone to lose their benefits just because they receive compensation for a personal injury. Under current rules, the law therefore allows a person to receive compensation and keep their benefits by creating a Personal Injury Trust.

We can advise on all aspects of Personal Injury Trusts, including:

  • Whether a Personal Injury Trust is right for you
  • Who you should name as your trustees
  • How the funds in the Personal Injury Trust should be managed
  • How to deal with the DWP and/or your local authority
  • Taxation and Accounts
  • Appointing and retiring trustees

Farming Families & Landowners

Cullimore Dutton has a long history of helping local farming families and landowners to plan for the future. We can prepare Wills helping to pass assets to the next generation tax efficiently and advise on the requirements for Agricultural Property Relief and Business Property Relief. We can also assist families with issues such as retaining a viable farm business for one family member whilst still providing for others.

Hello. I joined Cullimore Dutton in September 2023 where I am part of the Wills, Trusts, and Estates team.

I grew up in West Kirby on the Wirral and completed my Law Degree and Legal Practice Course at the University of Sheffield.

I was really excited to join Cullimore Dutton and I’m enjoying getting to know the rest of the team and the clients – everyone has been so welcoming so far.

I specialise in all aspects of Private Client work and have expertise in:
