Kara Nicholls
MCILEx / Senior Paralegal
What is your role and area of expertise?
I am a senior paralegal in the residential conveyancing team. My role mainly consists of assisting clients in selling and purchasing freehold or leasehold property along with re-mortgages and transfers of equity.
How do you approach working with clients?
I believe each client should be treated as though they are our only client. I will ensure that I utilize various communication channels where necessary, tailor approaches to meet the client’s needs. I understand the importance of listening and empathy, and my goal for my clients is to provide value and solutions.
What’s a standout achievement in your career?
I had my daughter in 2022 and still had one final exam to complete my Level 6 studies. I used the time off on maternity leave to study Probate Practice; a brand new area of law to me and passed the exam first time – my daughter was only 3 months old when I sat the exam! A truly remarkable result and I could not believe I was capable of such a result while juggling time with a newborn.
How do you incorporate Cullimore Dutton’s values?
Upholding ethical standards and honesty in all dealings. Prioritizing the needs and interests of clients while providing exceptional service. Striving for the highest quality in legal work and professional development.
I am part of the Charity and Social Committee and enjoy working with the team to raise money for our partner charities and making a difference in our community.
What do you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family whether they visit me or I go back to Essex for extended periods of time. I also have a miniature dachshund Ziggy and a 2 year old little girl who keep me very busy, you’ll most likely find us curled up watching a movie or snacking!
