I specialise in comprehensive financial planning, with a primary focus on securing a financially stable and fulfilling retirement for clients. My approach ensures that all available tax-efficient strategies are utilised, maximising savings and minimising tax liabilities. Key aspects of my service include tailoring an investment strategy that aligns with clients' evolving financial needs. This begins with a more conservative approach for funds needed in the early stages of retirement, progressively increasing risk tolerance to optimise returns for later life.

Where future financial security is assured, and wealth exceeds immediate requirements, I also focus on the preservation and management of accumulated assets to ensure they are maintained for the next generation. I incorporate a holistic view of life event planning, helping clients navigate significant milestones, ensuring they remain financially secure at every stage.

How do you approach working with clients?

My journey with clients always begins with an informal, relaxed discussion—a "chat," almost—to explore what truly drives them, their aspirations for the future, and how I can help make those goals a reality. I refer to this as the "getting to know you" meeting, as it allows both myself and potential clients to ask questions that go beyond financial matters.

This initial meeting is crucial, as it gives us a chance to ensure we're aligned in terms of values and approach. After all, financial planning is not just about numbers—it's about building a relationship that could span many years. If, for any reason, it seems we might not be the best fit—whether it's my sense of humour or any other aspect—it's better to recognise this early on, parting on good terms before moving forward. A mutual respect and love of spreadsheets is not necessarily a prerequisite, although it doesn’t hurt.

What’s a standout achievement in your career?

Over the years, I have enabled numerous clients to achieve a seamless transition from working life to retirement. By providing tailored financial strategies, I’ve helped them navigate the complexities of retirement planning, ensuring they enter this new phase of life with confidence and security. For clients whose primary objective has been to preserve and enhance their investments and pensions, I have implemented strategies that not only safeguard their assets but also optimise their growth potential. This focus on financial independence has brought my clients peace of mind and the freedom to enjoy their desired lifestyles.

While a common thread runs through all my clients, each one is unique, and their individuality enhances the bespoke service I strive to provide. Although I cannot highlight specific standout achievements for confidentiality reasons, I can say that there are notable instances where large corporations have made decisions that limited choices and benefits for clients. In those moments, the successful outcomes we’ve achieved together are cherished memories that we reflect on with pride.One of my clients once expressed that my approach to their finances felt more personal than professional. They appreciated how I ensured that each meeting and report addressed their unique situation from every angle.

This level of attention and care not only built trust but also made them feel understood and valued.If pushed, I would say that this is what I consider the standout achievement of my career.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

I appreciate spending time outdoors and enjoy tending to the garden. I love sharing the joy of musical theatre with my family, whether attending performances or enjoying shows at home. I have a keen interest in target shooting, appreciating the focus and discipline it requires. I’m a passionate fan of all things Harry Potter, firmly believing that you’re never too old to enjoy the magic of the wizarding world!
