Head of Private Client

What is your role and area of expertise?

With almost 20 years experience, I specialise in Wills, Estate and Tax planning, Trust and Estate Administration and Powers of Attorney. Wills and Estate and Tax Planning.I guide clients through the process of drafting Wills that reflect their wishes and safeguard their legacies for future generations.

With a focus on personalised solutions, I ensure that every Will is tailored to meet unique family and financial circumstances.
My expertise is in helping individuals and families navigate the complexities of estate planning, ensuring the smooth transfer of wealth across generations, protecting assets and minimising tax liabilities. I work closely with clients and their financial advisors and accountants to ensure a wholistic approach.

Trusts

Whether for wealth preservation, tax planning, or protecting vulnerable beneficiaries, I help clients establish and manage a variety of trust structures that meet their specific objectives.

Estate Administration

I assist executors and beneficiaries in navigating the probate process, ensuring that estates are administered efficiently and in accordance with the law. My goal is to reduce stress for families during difficult times, providing clear advice and taking on the administrative burden.

Powers of Attorney

As part of a comprehensive estate plan, I help clients appoint trusted individuals as attorneys under Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs). This ensures that their financial and healthcare decisions are managed according to their wishes in the event of temporary or permanent incapacity.

Acting as Executor, Trustee, and Attorney

I frequently act in the role of Executor, Trustee and Attorney. My extensive experience in these roles gives me unique insights into the practicalities and challenges involved. I aim to bring both expertise and caring to these roles which often require sensitivity.

How do you approach working with clients?

I believe in building long-term relationships with clients, understanding their goals, and delivering tailored advice that evolves with their needs. I take pride in making complex legal matters accessible and manageable, providing clear, jargon-free advice that empowers clients to make informed decisions. I take great pleasure in working alongside other trusted professionals to ensure that clients receive the best possible advice.

What’s a standout achievement in your career?

The journey of growth and progression throughout my career at Cullimore Dutton is my standout achievement. Starting out as a legal secretary during my law college days, I seized every opportunity to develop. I have transitioned through virtually every role from trainee solicitor through to Director and Head of Private Client.

This highlights two areas for me; In our business, the value I have placed on the mentoring I have had throughout my career has ignited a passion for fostering talent in others and I delight in helping others flourish. From a client perspective, being a trusted advisor to families across several generations and the long-term relationships I have developed, is an absolute privilege.

How do you incorporate Cullimore Dutton’s values?

I whole heartedly embrace our values We Change Lives vision. My aim is to build a collaborative team who are well supported to deliver exceptional client service. I believe that being a solicitor and a director comes with a responsibility and giving back is something I hold close to my heart. I am actively involved with our Inspire brand which celebrates and brings together the best of Chester and beyond and with several charities, including Clatterbridge and Age UK.

Whether it’s contributing time, resources, or legal expertise, I believe in the importance of supporting causes that make a meaningful difference in people’s lives.

What do you enjoy outside of work?

My family and friends are at the heart of everything I do. Family adventures are a huge part of my life and one of my greatest joys is travelling. My children would say I am happiest spotting red rocks and huge cactuses whilst driving a truck across the deserts of western USA. My love for music, particularly country music, is another passion. I am also a strong advocate for whole food, plant-based nutrition.
