Purpose of the Role

This is a strategic leadership appointment within Cullimore Dutton’s Career Pathway framework. The role exists to own, stabilise, and develop the commercial property income stream, a core contributor to the firm’s revenue and long-term exit strategy.

The successful candidate will operate with autonomy, visibility, and accountability, holding influence across the business rather than acting solely as a senior fee earner.

Level 5 (Managing / Leading) Expectations

The role sits at Level 5 and requires the individual to:

  • Take full ownership of the commercial property offering

  • Be accountable for financial performance, billing discipline, and lock-up

  • Act as an external ambassador for the firm

  • Influence standards and behaviour beyond their own caseload

Technical Experience Required

  • Minimum 10 years’ PQE in commercial property

  • Strong technical expertise including:

    • Option agreements

    • Overage agreements

    • Development transactions

    • Commercial leases and disposals

  • Ability to manage complex matters independently

  • Strong commercial judgement and risk awareness

Business Development & Leadership Capability

  • Proven ability to win work through relationships, not price

  • Confidence working with agents, developers, accountants, IFAs, and other referrers

  • Willingness to protect and grow an established income stream

  • Comfortable mentoring, setting standards, and leading within a small or evolving team

  • Accountability for overall financial performance, not just personal billings
