MORTGAGE ADVISER: THE ROLE
We have a vacancy for a full-time Mortgage Adviser to join our Financial Services team to competently provide mortgage and protection financial advice to clients within regulatory rules and guidance:

Salary: DOE up to £23,000 + benefits
Your responsibilities will include:
- Keep up to date with new product, technical or legislative changes within the mortgage and protection marketplace
- Comply at all times with the Compliance and Training and Competence Procedures of the firm
- Comply at all times with the requirements of the FCA including the Senior Managers and Certification rules
- Identify and contact potential clients. Gather sufficient client information and identify client needs
- Analyse information gathered and undertake sufficient research to make suitable recommendations
- Complete all supporting documentation in an accurate manner
- Attain and maintain competent status as defined by the Regulator and the firm
- Maintain performance standards in accordance with those outlined in the Key Performance Indicators section of the Training and Competence procedures
- Via self- assessment and feedback, identify Continuing Professional Development (CPD) needs to maintain and enhance Competent status and undertake appropriate activity to meet those needs
- This role has been identified as being a role which includes minimum knowledge requirements falling under the IDD rules. A minimum of 15 hours per annum of CPD activity must be recorded to evidence competence in all of the IDD areas as shown below that are appropriate for the adviser
- Recognise, respect and honour client confidentiality at all times
MORTGAGE ADVISER: THE PERSON
You will need a professional and positive attitude, strong interpersonal and organisational skills and the ability to work as part of a team, together with the following skills:
- Ability to interpret data and to analyse where existing procedures and practices can be improved
- Excellent standard of written & verbal communication
- Ability to empathise and build strong business relationships with our clients other staff and strategic partners
- Possess the ability to work using your own initiative, the preferred candidate must have a can-do attitude, possess the ability to search out solutions
- Ability to manage own time, workload and ensure that all contractual obligations are met with partner firms; and
- Good computer knowledge and skills, must be comfortable with Microsoft Word and Excel
MORTGAGE ADVISER: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
You will need minimum of 24 months experience in a similar role along with the following qualifications:
Essential
- Mortgage Advice qualification
- Level 3 Mortgage qualification
- Financial Planning qualification
Preferred
- Level 3 Equity Release qualification
- Level 1 Home Reversion qualification
