Solicitor – Wills & Probate (Chester)

Role Purpose
The role exists to deliver high quality Wills and Probate advice to clients while operating as a competent, increasingly independent fee earner.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Delivery
- Manage a varied caseload of Wills and Probate matters with limited supervision.
- Draft wills, LPAs and probate documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Progress straightforward probate matters independently and escalate complexity appropriately.
- Apply technical learning consistently and retain guidance given.
Client Care
- Deliver a calm, professional and empathetic client experience.
- Manage client expectations clearly on process, timescales and costs.
- Maintain accurate and timely communication with clients.
Risk and Compliance
- Follow all client onboarding and file management procedures.
- Identify risk issues early and escalate where required.
- Maintain accurate file notes and compliance records.
Commercial and Financial Contribution
- Manage time effectively and record time accurately.
- Demonstrate growing awareness of fees, WIP and billing.
- Support business development activity through relationship building and referrals.
Team and Business Contribution
- Work collaboratively across the business.
- Support colleagues when required.
- Contribute positively to team culture and standards.
Technical Experience Required
- Qualified solicitor with 1–2 years PQE in Wills and Probate.
- Experience managing wills, LPAs and straightforward probate matters.
- Sound understanding of private client regulatory requirements.
- Ability to work independently on routine matters.
